THE GREAT ADVANTAGES OF HAVING A PROFESSION

What is a profession? It is a great opportunity to work on something you enjoy, allows you to be your own boss, set your own work schedules and start forming a small business with your own style and your own creative ideas. Well, that is my definition! Now let’s see a more formal definition: A profession is a manual or physical work in which desk studies are usually not required, and when put into practice, it gives us a source or sources of income, and the opportunity to exercise our creativity, wit, and our entrepreneur spirit.

Did you know that some people have made real firms with their professions? Quite so! Great interesting accomplishments can be created by exercising a profession with excellence; turning it into a business and adding details of impact and of your own unique personality.

In the Church, our leaders have always advised us to learn professions from our early youth, without skipping a career, of course; but they have highlighted the importance of learning professions because they truly can become a great financial support while we build a family and a career.

Remember something important: It doesn’t matter how much the technology keeps progressing, and that professionals studies tend to focus even more on digital science and high specialization; people around the world will still need shoes, clothing, food, furniture, functional pipes, neat gardens, wrought iron for their windows, repair of tech gadgets, they will still need haircuts, hairstyles , etc. Simply because they are life’s basic things. No matter how “high tech” we’re becoming, the day when we won’t need those basic things is still far away… That is where the importance of a profession lies!

The key to “professionalize” a profession and make it profitable is NOT an occult science, but many people don’t think of themselves as an enterprise and a contribution to the world, nor as the possible beginning of a new business or industry. It is important to recognize the great opportunity of work and income that a profession executed “professionally” means, and how much it can help you to sustain your higher education, contribute in your home, and to be able to support a family. Also, choosing a profession according to your natural interests and talents can bring you a wonderful satisfaction! You can really love your job if it fits your natural skills and the things you really enjoy doing. The honest work is certainly a great opportunity, but the honest work executed with creativity, passion and our highest values, truly becomes a great blessing in your life. You can CREATE a new and original way to introduce the product of your work to the world, but keep in mind that the price of success is effort, responsibility, perseverance, QUALITY, punctuality, honesty, and a combination of other important details that we will mention in the next posts… but the results will make it all worth it! :  )
